Lucille Coates Metcalf, 89 went home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 9, 2022 at the Brian Center in Weaverville, NC. Lucille was a native of Madison County, born June 26, 1932, to the late Theodore Coates and Bonnie Ingle Coates. She lived in Shelby, NC for the last several years of her life and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Lucille was preceded in death by the love of her life, Fred Metcalf, who passed away on December 26, 1996 and her brother Verlon Coates.

Left to cherish her memory is sister, Jeanette Coates, brother Hoye Coates (Christean) and Luther "Capp" Coates (Jolene), all of Marshall NC, in addition to several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 11:30 am, Tuesday, June 14, 2022. Reverends Kenneth Parker and Nicholas Coates will officiate.

The family would like to thank the staff, doctors and nurses at the Weaverville Brian Center for the wonderful care given to Lucille during her stay at the facility.
