Travis Landon Metcalf, 55, of the East Fork Community, went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2025.

He was a lifetime self employed truck driver for Metcalf Trucking, LLC. His favorite place to truck was loads to Florida. He loved to travel and go on vacations with his family to pigeon Forge and the beach. His sense of humor, laugh, and wisdom will be missed the most; along with his singing sessions that didn't always sound good, but was guaranteed to make you laugh. The light of his life was his grandchildren who he loved and enjoyed the most. He was a proud papaw, that was his favorite title.

Travis is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Travis and Glennis Ray; paternal grandparents, Don and Alfreda Metcalf; aunt, Flossie Ball; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Landon and Edith Carver.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Tira Carver Metcalf; parents, Jimmy and Shirley Metcalf; children, Kenny Landon Metcalf (Jessica), Brittnay Metcalf Stanton (David), and Christopher Dalton Metcalf; grandchildren, Hunner Lee Metcalf, Kenzie Rena Metcalf, and Landon "Tripp" Stanton; as well as many extended family member and lifelong friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 23, 2025 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Reverends Ken Parker and Jason Shelton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Clark Cemetery. The family invites everyone to join them at Madison Seminary Baptist Church for a reception following the committal.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service, PO Box 27 Mars Hill, NC 28754 to assist with final expenses.
