Vava Jean Hensley Metcalf, 81, of Crooked Creek Road, Mars Hill, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019. She was a lifelong resident of Madison County and the daughter of the late Eli and Ella Crawford Hensley. Mrs. Metcalf was a member of Paint Gap Baptist Church and a loving wife and mother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Theron Metcalf; sister, Verlon Metcalf and three brothers, Jay, Ottis, and Kenneth Hensley.

Mrs. Metcalf is survived by her daughter, Connie Harris (Kevin); son, Randy Metcalf; sisters, Eula Robinson, Irene Waites, and Ann Boyd; brother, Jerry Hensley; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Seth Metcalf will officiate. Burial will follow in Paint Gap Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
