Verla Wilson Hensley, 86, of Weaverville, passed away April 19, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Carrie Elizabeth Rice Wilson. Verla loved her family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is a woman whose love and spirit will forever be missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, JC Hensley and grandchildren, Jerry Dean Hensley and Cheryl Roberts.

Mrs. Hensley is survived by her daughters, Freda Metcalf and Reta Parker (Jim); a son, Jerry Hensley (Kay); grandchildren, Clint (Brandi), Cliff (Jen), Amanda, Natosha, Sabrina (Rooster), Brandon "Moe" (Tamika) and Tara; 15 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Reverends Harley Bullman and Cotton Banks will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The burial will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
