Wanda Gail Metcalf Boone, 75, of Mars Hill, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at her home. She is the daughter of the late Paul Zade and Esta Lee Ammons Metcalf. Mrs. Boone retired from Micro Switch. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lester Lee Boone; a daughter, Katrina Boone; granddaughter, Lauren Boone; and sister, Joyce Metcalf. Mrs. Boone is survived by a daughter, Denise Griffin (Marvin); sisters, Louise Elkins (Bobby) and Jeanette Gwinup; grandchildren, J.J. Boyd (Kim), Jasmine Griffin, Shawnna Phillips; great grandchildren, Laney Mulley, Faith Wood and Jase Buckner and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Rotha Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in Little Ivy Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Boone was a passionate gardener and an amazing artist and enjoyed painting with her friends, "The Church Mice".
