Wanda Hurst Parker, age 81, of Weaverville, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022. She is the daughter of the late James Eugene and Gladys Louis Johnson Hurst. Wanda was a member of First Born Baptist Church in Weaverville. She retired from St. Josephs Hospital after 30 years. Wanda is also preceded in death by her husband: Edgar Buel Parker.

Wanda is survived by her sons: Mark Parker (Sheila), Jimmy Parker (Wendy); sister: Carolyn Hurst; brother: Kevin Peterson (Genia); grandson: Brent Parker (Brooke); and great grandson: Tanner Parker.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverends Jerry Jamerson and Brent Parker will officiate the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A burial will follow the service at Pleasant Grove Union Church Cemetery.
