Wanda McKinney Ray, 73, of Mars Hill, passed away, Thursday, February 25, 2021 at her home. She is the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie Thompson McKinney and a native of Buncombe County, having lived the last several years in Madison County. Wanda retired from AT&T after 48 years of service and attended Coles Cove Baptist Church.

Wanda is survived by her husband of 53 years, Leon Ray; daughter, Angie Culp; son, Randy Ray and wife Lisa; sisters, Frances Wilson and Judy and Rachel Johnston; grandchildren, Travis Fox, Garrett Butler, Paige Ray, Autumn Culp, and Peyton Ray; and sister-in-law, Ruth Gardner.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Junior Hollifield will officiate. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Wanda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
