Wayne Rogers, age 77, passed away on June 26, 2024. He was born on February 5, 1947 in Buncombe County. Wayne was a son of the late James Loyd and Annie Buckner Rogers.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Wilma R. Penley; and a brother, Jimmy Rogers.

Wayne was retired and was a faithful and beloved member of First Born Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sabra Presnell Rogers; daughter, Angela Carter (Jim); son, Johnny Rogers (Lisa) of Travelers Rest, SC; brother, David Rogers (Joan); grandchildren, Jessicca Vella (Joey), Jamie Carter, Brittany Cabe (Ryan), Jonathan Rogers, Joshua Rogers, and Kaytlynn Huff (Nate); and six great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday June 30, 2024 in First Born Baptist Church, Weaverville. Reverend Jerry Jamerson will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 pm prior to the service.
