William "Phill" Anderson, age 95, of Mars Hill went to his heavenly home Sunday, September 5, 2021. He has fought a good fight and kept the faith. WELL DONE ... He is the son of the late William Kelse and Nellie Rathbone Anderson. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, James Anderson; daughter, Sandra Sprinkle (Bobby); grandson, Andy Anderson; sisters, Edna Honeycutt and Sylvia Metcalf and brothers, Earl, James, and Willie Lee Anderson. He lived all his life in Madison County.

He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years Betty Fox Anderson; daughters, Patricia Ray (David), Peggy Hollifield (Coy Junior), Jeannie Wyatt (H.C.), and Jaynie Tipton (Chris); sons, Dean Anderson (Ginger) and Mark Anderson (Lisa); sister, Hazel Robinson; 24 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Mr. Anderson retired from NC DOT with 26 years of service. He traveled with his family for many years preaching and praising God in song. "I have been blessed" our Daddy always said.

A funeral service will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Reverends Bobby Sprinkle, and Coy Junior Hollifield officiating. Burial will follow in the Chambers Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00PM Tuesday evening in the funeral home.
