William "Billy" Morris Blagg, 70, of Marshall, NC, went home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2025. He passed away peacefully at home with family by his side after a short illness. He was born on August 12th, 1955 in Buncombe County, but lived most of his life in Madison County.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Blagg; mother, Bessie Ramsey; and siblings, Roger Fox, Johnny Dale Blagg, Mary Janie Rice, Benny Lane Blagg, and Jackie Blagg Ponder.

He is survived by his daughter, Vaulty Shapiro, and her children: Brandon (Stormy), Kerrigan (Nick), Jameson, and Peyton; and by his two sons, Charles W. Blagg II and Daniel Blagg. He is also survived by his sisters, Wanda Dockery and Glenda Worley; his brother, Edward Scott; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends whom he considered family.

Billy deeply loved his friends and family, cherishing the people in his life more than possessions, because he truly valued relationships. His life was devoted to serving others, always offering a helping hand to anyone in need. Billy had a special place in his heart for children; he was always patient and kind. He especially loved seeing the joy that Christmas brought to children's lives and found great happiness in playing Santa Claus each year—watching their faces light up brought him true joy. He found great joy in making others happy and went out of his way to bring smiles and laughter wherever he could.

An avid outdoorsman, Billy lived for the next hunting, fishing, or camping trip. His life was not set by clocks or calendars, but by the seasons — deer in the fall, trout in the spring, and the deep silence of the forest year-round.

He will be forever missed by his friends and family. His generous spirit, humility, and unwavering love will continue to be celebrated by all who knew him.

The family would like to extend a special thank-you to Wanda and Doug Dockery for their care, assistance, and hospitality during Billy's final days.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 25th 4:00pm-5:00pm at Trinity Baptist Church, 216 Shelburne Rd., Asheville, NC 28806. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
