Leonard Coffey, 79, of Mars Hill, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021. He was a lifelong resident of Madison County and the son of the late Posey Jerome and Elizabeth Griffin Coffey. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Brackens Coffey, daughter-in-law, Cindy Coffey; sister, Esther Bailey; brothers, Carroll, Anderson, and Floyd Coffey. He was a member of Bull Creek Baptist Church.

Leonard is survived by his sons, Dewayne Coffey (Wanda) and Rodney Coffey; grandchildren, Myron Coffey (Brittany, Justin Coffey (Melissa) and Crystal Chatman (James); great grandchildren, Tye, Brooklyn, Bentley, Addison, Emery, Brady, and Olivia; sister, Meredith Wilburn; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Reverend Steven Glover and Preacher Dewayne Coffey will officiate. Burial will follow in Gabriel's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gerald, Freddie, Scotty, Charles, Sr., Jeremy, and Colton Coffey.
