IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Wilma Jean
Robinson
June 30, 1933 – June 29, 2025
Wilma Jean Robinson, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025. She was a lifelong resident of Madison County and the daughter of the late Lattie and Margaret Shepherd Ballard. Jean was raised with strong values rooted in faith, family and hard work. Jean spent her days as a hardworking farmer, nurturing both the land and the people around her. Her hands were rarely still, whether she was tending to a garden, baking a pie or preparing a hot meal. No one ever left her house hungry. Hospitality wasn't something she just offered; it was a part of who she was. A devoted follower of Jesus, her faith was the foundation of everything she did. She was a devoted member of Mars Hill Methodist Church, where her faith continued to shine through her service. She especially loved helping with church meals and gatherings, always ready to lend a hand or bring a dish that felt like home. She was a proud Girl Scout Troop leader for six years, mentoring girls with kindness, patience and strength. Her legacy is one of faith, service, family and unconditional love. In addition to her parents, She is preceded in death by her husband, Emory Robinson; a daughter Betsy Lovin and siblings, Elezene Brown and Bill Ballard.
A proud mother of four, Jean was the heart of her family and a pillar of her community. She is survived by her children, Sam Robinson (Katy), Janet Johnson (Mike) and Joe Robinson (Toni); 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, who were the light of her eye.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Kelley Dotson will officate. The burial will follow in the Mars Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Jean will be missed by everyone who knew her, but her memory will live on in the stories shared around kitchen tables, in gardens planted with care and in the grace and strength she passed down through generations.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Greens at Weaverville for their care for Jean during her stay.
