Obituary

Woodrow (Woodie) Van Frisbee, 97 of Marshall passed away Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Charles George VA Medical Center. Mr. Frisbee was born August 27, 1918 in Madison County where he lived all his life. He was a son of the late Van Frisbee and Margaret Brown. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Sallie Sams and brothers Hershel, Grover and Reeves, sisters Sue and Bessie Frisbee, Maggie Riddle and Lucy Ball. Woodie was a member of Teague's Chapel United Methodist Church. Woodie was a very proud Veteran, having served his country in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany during World War II. Woodie lived a simple life, he was a farmer, hard- working honest man, a good Samaritan to all, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by a son, Ronnie Frisbee (Carolyn) of Leicester, daughter Judy Holliday (Tony) of Marshall, two grandchildren, Kim Sutton and Jason Frisbee, both of Marshall and two great grandchildren, James and Hannah Frisbee; one brother, Henry Frisbee (Maude) of Asheville, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Teague's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend Wyllene Skipper officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Wing of the Charles George VA Medical Center , 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
