Obituary for Anthony Galletta Jr.

Anthony Galletta Jr., 80, of 1657 Ponder Creek Rd., passed away October 22, 2016. He was the son of the late Anthony Galletta Sr. and Bertha Cincotta Galletta. Mr. Galletta was born and raised in Merrick, NY. He was the owner and operator of George and Anthony Nursery in Davie, Fl for 33 years before retiring in 2006 to North Carolina. Anthony was a friend to all.
Mr. Galletta is survived by his wife of 55 years, Catherine “Kay” Galletta; son, Anthony Galletta (Robin); daughter, Christina Galletta (David); brothers, Dominick Galletta (Diane), William Galletta; brother in law, Rudy Carastro (Bernice); nieces and nephews, Lauren Nastasi (Robert), Dominick Galletta (Kay), Deborah Birkbeck (Bob), Greg Carastro (Paul).
A receiving of friends will be held 4-6:00pm Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Blue Ridge Funeral Service. The Funeral Mass will be held 11:00am Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 149 Brook St., Mars Hill, NC, where he served as Sacristan. Father Fred Werth will officiate.
