Hazel Ramsey Grindstaff, 97 of Mars Hill, NC slipped from our arms into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the home of her daughter. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Lessie Buckner Ramsey. Hazel is also preceded in death by her beloved husband Rev. Andrew Grindstaff; sons, John and Rev. Dean Grindstaff, infant baby girl, daughter-in-law Barbara Grindstaff, 7 sisters and brothers.
She is survived by daughter, Oval Ball(Gordon) son, Floyd Grindstaff (Jeanie); daughters-in-law, Judy Grindstaff Roberts (Bud) and Judy Grindstaff; brothers, Roy and Lewis Ramsey; 2 granddaughters, 8 grandsons, 23 great grandchildren 1 great great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Hazel’s life will be held at 7:00PM, Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Reverends Gordon Ball, son-in-law; David Grindstaff, grandson and Austin Brigmon, great grandson officiating. Burial will be held Thursday, 11:00 am in the Upper Laurel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00PM Wednesday, prior to the service.
