Meeting Brad

I only met Brad once but he made such an impact that I remember it after all these years(2000 or 2001)  My son Shad came to my house to do repairs and heavy work and Brad just came along. He introduced himself and hugged me instead of shaking hands. He did just as much work as Shad did, talking and laughing the entire time. It was a sad time in my life but he made me laugh almost constantly. I wish I could remember the things he said, he told funny stories of things he'd done. I remember thinking what a good kid he was. He wouldn't let me pay him for the work even though they were there for hours, he said lunch was more than enough payment. The only thing I really remember him saying was as they were leaving. He told me if I needed help with anything to let him know and he'd come right away. He said it in such a sincere way for such a young man that I instantly knew he was serious. Between the two of them, it was such a good day that I've thought of it many times over the years.

I am deeply sorry for the loss of such a fine young man. I pray for peace for his family and friends.
