Obituary for Kenneth Wesley Metcalf
Kenneth Wesley Metcalf, 72, passed away September 10, 2017 at John F. Keever Solace. He was the son of the late Howard and Pearly Cody Metcalf. Kenneth was known by his family as “Grouchy Butt”. He loved fishing and Bluegrass Gospel. In addition to his parents, Kenneth is also preceded in death by children Cynthia and Stacie Metcalf, sister, Mary Jo Merck and brothers, Billy and Benny Metcalf.
Kenneth is survived by his longtime companion Pat Jones; daughters, Sherry Rider (Truman), Tammie Metcalf (Elice), Tracee Metcalf, Evelyn Hyatt (Bobby), Renee Banks (Billy) and Martha Sherlin; sons, Tony Metcalf, Jeffery Metcalf (Tammy); sister, Gladys Styles (James), 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Wade and Gwen Hall will officiate. The burial will follow in the Bruce-Metcalf Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Blue Ridge Funeral Service, PO Box 27, Mars Hill, NC 28754. to help with final expenses.
