Mae Honeycutt Rice, 92, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018. She was the daughter of the late Harrison and Macie Pack Honeycutt. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Julius Rice and brothers, Clindon, Grady, Claude and Walter Honeycutt.
She is survived by her children, Lucille Carver, Virginia Graham, Deborah Roberts, Truman Rice (Susan) and L.J. Rice (Brenda); sisters, Irene Honeycutt, Faye Roberts and Jane Edwards; brothers Clay Honeycutt (Genell) and Cling Honeycutt (Geraldine); and five generations of grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday at the Laurelton Chapel Baptist Church with Reverends Ken Parker, Harry Culbertson and Edward Hoyle officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Laurelton Chapel Church Cemetery.
Mae Rice was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She lived her life with no fear of tomorrow because she knew everything was in God’s hands. She was a faithful member of Laurelton Chapel Baptist Church for many years. She left many fond memories for everyone who knew her.
