Faye Stanberry Ray, 86, of Petersburg Rd. went to meet the Lord on February 17, 2018 after a short illness. She was a loving and generous person with a laugh that was contagious and remembered by all. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Ray; father and mother, Roy and Zora Hawkins Stanberry; brothers, Fred and Frank Stanberry and sister Frances Stanberry Robinson.
She is survived by a large family including one brother, Freelon Stanberry of Houston, Alaska; her daughter, Judy Ray Edwards and husband A.J. of Myrtle Beach, SC.; sons, Fred Ray, Jr. and wife Kathy of Weaverville, NC, Stanley Ray of Marshall, NC, Tommy Ray and wife Chris of Atlanta, GA as well as 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Faye retired from Micro-Switch in 1991 and attended Grapevine Baptist Church until her health declined.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00PM Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service, with a celebration of life service immediately following. The burial will follow in the Grapevine Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Grapevine Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Phyllis Bradley, 11 Cargile Br. Rd. Marshall, NC 28753.
The family would like to thank the staff of Madison Health and Rehabilitation Center for their caring hands and loving hearts.
