Obituary for Doris Hollifield (Buckner)
Doris Buckner Hollifield, 81, passed away at her home Tuesday, April 17, 2018. She was the daughter of the late William and Ada Sue Rice Buckner. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Alene Hollifield, son, Ricky Dean Hollifield; sister, Bonnie Anders; brothers, Luther and Howard Buckner, and granddaughter Vanessa Hunter.
She is survived by her husband, Coy Hollifield; daughters, Nancy Hunter (Bud) and Linda Hensley (Ronnie); sons, Coy Junior Hollifield ( Peggy) and Billy Joe Hollifield (Jodey); sisters, Betty Jean Fender, Helen Jarrett, and Barbara Wilson (Don); brothers, Carrol Buckner (Nancy), Gerald Buckner and Dennis Buckner; ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, April 20, 2018 in the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service with Reverends Ken Jenkins, and Roger Massey officiating. Burial will follow at Flat Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, April 19, 2018.
Doris was a member of Coles Cove Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law and was loved by all.
