Obituary for Emma Louise Wambles

EMMA LOUISE "EMMA LOU" WAMBLES

MARSHALL: Emma Louise "Emma Lou" Wambles, 77, of 45 Locust Street (Walnut community) passed away Sunday, June 27, 2010 at her residence. She was a daughter of the late Emmit McNeil and Rachel Dockery Boswell. She was also preceded in death by children; Bobby Wilson and Debbie Wilson Strom, two grandchildren; Gabriel Kirk Strom and Bryan Penley, one great grandchild, Memorie McGalliard, two sisters; Marie Boswell and Shirley Boswell, two brothers; Larry Boswell and David Boswell. Emalou was active in the Walnut community activities.


Surviving are her sons; Bruce Wilson (Janice), Dale Wilson, Wesley Bullman all of Marshall and Jonathan Bullman (Maria Serino) of Jacksonville, NC., daughters; Gail Wilson Cook (Johnny) of Marshall, Sherri Darling of Woodfin and Terri Dernley, of Marshall, brothers; Buddy and Jerry Boswell both of Marshall, sixteen grandchildren; Shane Wilson, Candice Robertson, Rachel Wilson, Lori Gilland, Johnny Cook Jr., John Hickson, Bobby Dale Wilson, Tasha Crawford, Elisha Fox, Debra Gail Dearnley, Stephanie Lunsford, Stacey Wilson, Aaron Swartz and Kendra Ogle and twenty-two great grandchildren; Ian Robertson, Michaela and Ethren Robertson, Paton Penley, Tyler Cook, April, Laurel and Jessica Crawford, Stormy Dearnley, Samatha Wootin, Sierra Hunter, Joshua Young, Michael, Amber and Lacey Hefner, Jonathan Rogers, Hayden and Zachary Lunsford, Evan Wilson and Molly Ogle.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday July 1, 2010 in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service, Mars Hill. Rev. Kellen Jay Griffin will officiate. A committal service will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 . 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.


Emma Lou was first and foremost a mother, a philanthropist, a community leader and always had an open door. She taught her family many lessons that has made and will make us better people and carry us to a better place. We should all strive to be like her. She will be missed terribly, but that is the selfish side of us who were touched by her.
