Margaret Boone, the Lord called her home, September 19, 2017. She was born July 22, 1931 a lifetime resident of Madison County. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Zenobia Edmonds Boone; four brothers, Mack, Arthur, Lester and Calvin; and two sisters, Harrett and Melba.
Margaret attended school at Beech Glen, loved to go to the senior citizen's meal site to visit with friends for more than 30 years. Earlier she worked for Handy Skills and made boxes for Micro Switch. Her companion for many years was a white kitty named My Cat.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Betty Boone of Lexington, SC, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm Friday, September 22, 2017, at Middle Fork Missionary Baptist Church, where she was lifetime member. Rev. Nelson Ponder will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2pm Friday, at the church.
The family would like to thank the staff at Elderberry in Marshall where she was for 5 months. They took such a good care of her. Also, a big shout out to Madison Home Health and Hospice and her faithful caregivers, Wanda, Annette, Holly, “Sam”, and others who helped care for me.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hurricane Relief efforts.
Margaret was an independent, stoic lady who taught the lesson of contentment. She was happy with what she had as long as she had what she needed.
