Patricia Gowan-Metcalf, 68, of 470 Crowfield Dr. passed away January 26, 2016 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Lyna Ponder Gowan. Mrs. Gowan-Metcalf worked in the Buncombe County School System for 32 years where 12 of those years she was the principal of Fairview Elementary School.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Metcalf; daughters, Evetta Metcalf and Melissa Barker.
A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, January 30, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Pastors Raymond Cantrell and Ronnie Owen will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Gowan-Metcalf will be interred at Ivy Ridge Church of God following the committal service at the funeral home.
