Obituary for Elma Jean Smith (Johnson)
Elma Jean Johnson Smith, 68, of 95 Meadow Ridge Lane, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at John F. Keever Solace Center after a short illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Madison County and a daughter of the late Vernie Johnson Grooms. She was also preceded in death by her husband Hobert G. Smith, two sisters; Charlotte Cutshall and Betty Shelton. She was a homemaker and a member of East Fork Church of God. Elma was loved by her family and friends.
Surviving is her daughter, Lorraine Smith Reece, sister, Glennise Cutshall, grandchildren; Christopher, Kenneth and Lucas Reece and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Saturday, July 27, 2013 in Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Winston Lloyd will officiate. Burial will follow at East Fork Church of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:30 PM prior to the service.
