Obituary for Betty Jo Metcalf (Reese)
Betty Jo Reese Metcalf, 85, of Bailey Street, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 at John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center. She was a daughter of the late Ellis Woody and Ida Lee Ingle Reese. She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael B. Thomas, sisters, Mary Ellis Snow, Clarine Godfrey and Eloise Horton. Ms. Metcalf was a native of Madison County and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. She was employed by Madison County for twenty plus years and worked as meal site manager at Beech Glen and Marshall Senior Meal Sites.
She is survived by her daughter; Paulette Thomas, daughter-in-law, Marilyn Thomas and grandchildren; Deanna Stanley, Steven Thomas, Jason Thomas, and Tracy Thomas.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Mars Hill, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center, 21 Belvedere Rd. Asheville, NC 28803.
She is survived by her daughter; Paulette Thomas, daughter-in-law, Marilyn Thomas and grandchildren; Deanna Stanley, Steven Thomas, Jason Thomas, and Tracy Thomas.
