Jimmy (AKA Santa) was a teddy bear of a man who had a heart whose boundaries extended beyond measure. He loved his family dearly, especially being a Pappy. He loved all things weather, especially snow, the mountains, everything Christmas and ultimately loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Ellen Davis, and 3 nieces (Grace, Sheila, and Stephanie).
He is survived by the three girls who were his heart: Renee Davis, high school sweetheart & wife of 32 ½ years, Faye Price, daughter blessed to have had him for over 31 years, & Annaliese Price, Pappy’s monkey doodle since she was born. He is also survived by his father, James Davis Sr., siblings, Jenny Rast (Duane), Jay Davis (Rena), Martha Hammond (Ed), mother & father-in-law, Duain and Faye Whittemore, brothers & sisters-in-laws, Devon Whittemore (Deana), Tonya Whittemore, Lamar Whittemore (Chastity), Shiela Velez (Roy), Melinda Whittemore, & Adrith Standridge (Steven), and 7 nieces & 3 nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Delain Whittemore will officiate. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00pm prior to the service.
