Santa Richard Gainey
Last Sleigh Ride
by Santa Nelson Burke
I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below,
The tiny lights like heaven’s stars reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear,
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
But the sounds of music can’t compare with the Christmas choir we have up here.
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
Words beyond description, to hear the angels sing.
Life is but a stopping place, a pause in what’s to be,
A resting place along the road to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys, different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things, but never meant to stay.
Our destination is a place far greater than we know,
For some the journey’s quicker, for some the journey’s slow.
And when the journey finally ends, we will claim a great reward,
And find the everlasting peace, together with the Lord.
So remember me as Santa and wipe away that tear,
But remember that I am spending my Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.
