Obituary for Fred Nelson Rector
Fred Nelson Rector, 67, passed away at his home Saturday, March 10, 2018. He was the son of the late Franklin and Virgie Sprinkle Rector. Fred worked as a flooring installer for many years before retirement and a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his son Freddy Rector; brothers, Frank and Blake Rector; sisters, Wilma Shelton, and Faye Rector.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Smith Rector; daughters, Tammy Ball (Michael), Cindy Hyatt (Mickey) and Kayla Rector; sisters, Lorraine Phillips, Blanche Chambers and Glada Shelton; brother, Terrill Rector; grandchildren, Brandi, Brittany and Corey Arrowood and Sawyer and Shae Hyatt; and great grandchildren, Ciara Sims, Jasmine Ball, Kennedy Rector, Kendall Bass, and Kaylea Jones.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Rev. Clyde Metcalf will officiate. Burial will follow at the Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery. Ray Rector, Jimmy and Jeff Smith, Zach Sims, Jammie Metcalf and Corey Arrowood will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Fred was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was loved by many. He adored his wife and children and lived for his grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping, loved old cars and piddling in his garage.
